Welcome to LIGHTHOUSE Art & Adventure Algarve — where art, exploration, and creativity meet in the landscapes of Southern Portugal.
We are a laboratory for curious minds, creating unique artist-led experiences rooted in the Algarve. Through plein-air painting, sketching in nature, private creative journeys, and inspiring company offsites, Lighthouse combines artistic practice, local discovery, and meaningful encounters with place — guided by the extraordinary light, colours, and rhythms of this stunning region.

We believe that painting is one of the most beautiful ways to discover a place.
Not because everyone should become a painter.
But because painting asks something that modern life rarely does:
– to stop.
– to look.
– to notice.
At Lighthouse, the landscape is never simply the backdrop. It is the reason we are here. Every village, ferry crossing, coastline, café, market, and changing sky becomes part of the experience. Each location is carefully chosen because it tells a story and offers something worth discovering slowly.
Our experiences are designed as carefully curated journeys through the Algarve, where art becomes a way of understanding landscape, culture, light, and local life. Small groups, invited artists, and meaningful encounters with place create space for genuine observation, conversation, and creativity.
People often return home with paintings.
We hope they also return with a different way of seeing.
Our first season — 2025 — is now complete!
From Faro and Tavira Sketchwalks to painting the boats of Olhão, each session was filled with curiosity, colour, and creative energy. It’s been a beautiful beginning.

A scene from our very first Sketchwalk in Portugal! This unforgettable day in September 2021 took place at the stunning Miradouro da Santa Luzia in Lisbon. Three enthusiastic participants explore composition techniques using viewfinders, learning how to break down a landscape into shapes and create balanced sketches. The shared creative energy made this experience truly special!
